No progress for a while
Due to my HEAVY load coming in from school, I won't be able to keep up with this project. HOWEVER, I will return to this once my next break arises. (i.e. the winter break)

Modeling Finished
As far as actually modeling him, he's done. He still needs a paint job, and he needs to get his body rigged, but compared to the head, this should be simple enough.
Also, the tail... I am not sure how I am going to approach it. You can see the tip of it in the image, but that's just a place-holder.

Feet And Legs
False warning I guess... I managed to complete the feet after a surprising bit of luck. Only made a few mistakes this time, and was able to borrow the fingers to be used as toes. (modified of course)
Lower-Body Delay
Just thought I'd let you guys know that I AM working on the lower body, but the feet are taking me a bit. I will update you once I have the feet done.

Arms & Hands
It took a couple of attempts, but I managed to produce hands that look decent for him. The scale for the arms looks like it will work as well. If you have any feedback, please, leave a comment below.
Return
I just got back from my vacation and plan to resume progress on the project immediately. I should have an update for you within the next 24 hours. Glad to be back.

Pre-Departure Update
Just thought I'd show you the little tweeks I made, before I head off on my vacation. The lips are now fully rigged, allowing for more refined facial expressions. It's nowhere near perfect, but I feel confident with this head as a final product. The only other thing would be a tongue, but since that's just a little add-on (not even necessary for it to connect to the head), I feel confident moving forward to the torso. I will see you guys when I get back, and hopefully I will be able to get to work on the torso!
Another thing you might have noticed: I fixed the eyes a bit. Before the skin very visibly intersected the eyeball, but now it is tucked away such that it will never appear too.
Note of Absence
I have a planned vacation soon for which I am preparing. Because of that, I will not be able to work on this project much, however, once I return, I will rush the production as much as I can to accommodate this. Also worth noting: I will still be able to view and respond to comments, I just won't be able to work on the model.

A Good Comb
Although I didn't finish all the lip bones, thanks to a bit of help I got, the fur now looks significantly better. Thought I would give you a taste of what the fur looks like now:
Arguably the lips look worse, but that will soon be corrected. I will be able to move on to either the body of the tongue either tomorrow, or the day after.
As stated before, if you have a preference as to what you want me to prioritize, leave a comment! I will read every single one of them. (For now, since there is a whopping 0 so far)
Delays
Sadly, due to a bit of a issue today got thrown down the bin. I was contemplating moving to another site: http://computercobra.weebly.com/
However, in the end, it didn't pan out. I still recommend you go ahead and visit him. However, the better part of the day was spent on that conversation. Work still was made on the model, however, it was not significant enough to show any real proof of. I will post again tomorrow, with any luck.

A Fuzzy Coat
Before I hit the sack, I though I would share with you the aforementioned fur prototype. It's not guaranteed to be the next thing I work on, but it IS being worked on every now and then:
I know it looks messy, but it's just a prototype.
Rigging Fox Head: Part 5
I have finished with the eyelids. They aren't perfect, but they work. It's onward I go. Tommorrow, I will quickly rig up the lips. Since that might not take that long, I might get started on the next thing.
I have three options, and I will let you guys/gals decide which I should work on:
Here is an updated image of what the head looks like now. (with a both eyes working)
I have three options, and I will let you guys/gals decide which I should work on:
- Better fur (I already have a VERY rough prototype)
- The torso/full body (surprisingly, would probably not take anywhere near as long as the head took.)
- A tongue (I mean, sure, he doesn't need it right away, but otherwise his open mouth looks all too open. :P)

If you have a preference on which one you would like to see completed first, leave a comment down below.

Rigging Fox Head: Part 4
Some progress at last! After much fiddling, I managed to make an eyelid work. "An" eyelid. I still have to do the other one. *sigh* However, here is a picture of the result. (FYI, I have the ability to do a fully closed AND fully open eye, however, right now, the fully closed version has some nit-picky problems. It's good enough now though, that I feel comfortable moving on. (Still need to copy this over to the other side)
(I know, it looks weird right now, but it will look better once I fix the other eye.)

Further Delays!
The eyelids are a very substantial setback. I am going to need to go back and edit the model itself in order to correct this. Here is a link to the thread in which I have been working with this: Link
Rigging Fox Head: Part 3
Today's work didn't go too well. I was attempting to animate the eye-lids, but they are being really finicky. I submitted what I have to the Blender Forums, to get some help. With any luck, I may be able to get the eyes working by the end of today.
UPDATE: I got some feedback on the forum, and it looks do-able. Should I finish correcting this before I hit the sack, I will create a separate post.

Rigging Fox Head: Part 2
Today, though not as quickly as I had hoped, I have rigged a large number of the facial bones.
All I have left are some tiny bones in the lips, the bones to control puffy cheeks, the eyelids, and the eyebrows.
This is what a rendered version of it so far is. (Hopefully it's mildly more entertaining than my previous post)
Also, I promise I will add a tongue... eventually.
-Sincerely, Tales.
P.S. If anyone is actually reading my blog, please, leave me a comment. it would make my day. Maybe my whole month...

Rigging Fox Head: Part 1
Hello! This is my first post, so forgive the poor formatting and content ;)
I am currently working on a fox model in blender (which may or may not resemble Nick Wilde from Zootopia):
At this time, I am working on creating a functional rig, rather than further refining the coloring, or designing the fur.
For the time, that concludes my post. - Sincerely, Tales.
